Robin Houghton receives Profitnet Hero award
A Lewes business owner has received an award from the University of Brighton’s Profitnet, an innovative, Sussex-wide peer to peer business support programme developed for small and medium sized enterprises and the first of its kind in the UK.
Robin Houghton, of Eggbox Marketing, was one of two recipients of the Profitnet Hero award presented at a celebration event on Thursday 21st January. The event, held at the University’s new Checkland Building was attended by over two hundred guests incorporating individuals from a diverse range of businesses and organisations. These included Celia Barlow, Labour MP for Hove & Portslade, senior representatives from Brighton & Hove City Council and the South East Development Agency (SEEDA) and University of Brighton Governors.
The evening also featured an inspiring keynote address from University of Brighton honorary graduate and global entrepreneur, Marc Koska, inventor of the K1, one use syringe and founder of the Safe Point Trust. He commented:
“Bringing the whole business community together, Profitnet recognise the importance of communication and knowledge. These awards actively celebrate members who have achieved outstanding results.”
The Profitnet Hero award was in recognition of Robin’s enthusiastic support of the programme, such as in the sharing of time, expertise and insights with other group members, having a ‘team player’ attitude, a commitment to regular attendance and motivating others to join.
